Glide Wax Temp. question.

I love waxing my skis. Use to work in a shop back in the day and got the bug then. I thought I knew things, but today I got a piece of info that upset my understanding. lol.

My local ski shop owner told me the temps listed on Toko are snow temp while the ones listed on Swix are air temp. Is this true? Why?

I’ve always been under the assumption you wax for the snow conditions. I guess Swix is trying to make their product more user friendly?
