Old vs new
I see a lot of people talking about mmr, it’s been a discussion for years now. If rewards were percentage based, mmr wouldn’t matter. I feel like if percentages were adjusted ie. Gladiator 1% rather than .5 would just be a better system and was imo. I think end of season rewards felt 10x more rewarding. Also with the r1 titles taking into consideration alts, if they did that for gladiator the top 1% would truly be the top 1% of unique players, and gladiator would be a lot more meaningful. Maintain the elite sets, tabards, cloaks and illusions and in season rewards as hard set requirements.
Idk this will probably get a lot of hate, but I feel the mmr complaint is kind of just a crutch excuse. People got ratings during inflated seasons and now they aren’t seeing those same numbers, but did you ever compare that from a percentage standpoint? I’d be willing to bet most people are around the same place on the ladder, their cr is just different because of mmr fluctuations.
In the end I think percentages are the way to go, you can’t argue with where you stand on the ladder and I think rewards should reflect that.
I also suck at writing sorry.
Adding this. I think it would also help with the rmt issue. It’s so easy to sell gladiator and other carries when it’s just a number based thing. That’s why you see it constantly in 3s. It’s a lot harder for them to carry at the end of the season while maintaining their own rank 1 pushes ext. it obviously won’t end rmt, it it would hinder the ability to sell gladiator carries immensely.
