Creepy House "Wimmelbilder"-Style Picture Book

There was this one picture book I would always get from the library when I was little. It was a cutout cross-section of a house/mansion that seemed normal at first. But every day it became creepier and creepier as humans turned to monsters. It has a very similar premise to The Apartment Book by Leo Hartas, but everything took place at night and it had a darker tone. The overall ambiance looks similar to this illustration: Edgar Allen Poe House. I think the cover was very simple and was mostly black or green with a picture of the house.

EDIT: I believe the book that I was trying to find is "Full Moon Soup: Or Fall of Hotel Splendide" by Alastair Graham (1991). I spent quite a long time googling random words together that reminded me of the book. I remembered that there was a full moon above the house, so I tried adding "full moon" to the search terms. I guess I got really lucky, because that is a part of the title!
