I usually get Karens in this area but this one takes the crown
This ride starts at MCO and ends at a hotel closer to where I actually live. At the airport there we’re getting frustrated with why I had up circle around not once but twice. On the driver app we get a first name. On the rider app they get a name, our picture and even our tag so it makes it so difficult to locate a person at a busy airport standing on the curb. What they don’t understand is that security will kick you out in 2 minutes sometimes if they don’t show right up. Now my fault and explained it to them that security is very strict. They weren’t having it.
I take them on one of the toll roads from the airport to I4. I4 is like at least a 20 minute wait to get on at the merge. I would know. I live here. I avoid the area by exit 62 at all costs. Then once you’re on you’re sitting in bumper to bumper for another 10 minutes. Uber will often do multiple ride checks because you don’t move for 5 minutes at a time. I do what I normally dodo and take 192 to bypass it and get to their destination at the time uber would have thought I would have got there anyway. GPS never accounts for the fact you have people who don’t zipper even during rush hour so if I took the original route it would have probably taken AT LEAST 15 minutes more. We’re not paid to sit in traffic like that. On the world drive to get to 192 they insist I U turn to get back to I4. They were pissed I took them the route I knew was better.
I got a one star review the next day. They got one as well the next day as doing a negative report lets you retroactively change it. My three trophies for ruining their day are displayed above. I got rude probably because they didn’t want to hear that I’m not following random directions. Ignoring requests I got probably because I didn’t stop EXACTLY where they were. There are other people doing pick up and I can’t exactly push cars out of my way. Also the ignored backseat driving. They ultimately got to point B faster than their GPS. And lol at talking too much. I get this sometimes. I only talked when they had questions and requests that I totally ignored. Most of the trip I actually didn’t care to talk to them.
Obviously the only tip I got was “cancel the ride if they are rude BEFORE getting in the car”. If you think you know the area better than someone who lives there rent your own car and use Apple Maps on your own time. If you think I’m going to ignore requests from security and get a parking ticket, you’re high on something. If you think I’m talking too much because I’m answering questions, don’t ask them.
Glad at least they didn’t file a false intoxication report, but then again it would be resolved by the time I was ready to be back on the streets as this was the day before a 6 day stretch at my regular job.
