obliging the father

Hello, I’m seeking legal advice regarding the father of my child. She just turned one, and despite his verbal commitment to support her, he has yet to provide any monthly support. He claims he is financially tight, and while I’m not trying to force him to provide right now, I would like to understand how I can ensure he fulfills his responsibilities whenever he is financially able.

He has expressed that he does not want to be involved in her life and refuses to tell his family about the situation because he fears being disowned. He even swore he would never tell his family, not even on his deathbed.

I also asked him to provide citizenship for our daughter, as I heard that the government might support the child if the father is incapable of providing. However, he refused. He mentioned that he believes he can avoid any legal consequences, even if I file a case against him.

Can anyone guide me on how I can legally oblige him to provide support or take action in this situation? I would appreciate any insights or resources on this matter.

Thank you in advance for your help.
