Any Trans Scientists out there?

Hi all. Am a trans scientist, have a BS in Genetics, I've worked two years as a diagnostician at a Vet Diagnostic Lab and I'm trying to go to grad school right now. Of course I have terrible timing on going to school, last time I went to college, my freshman year Covid 19 happened.

To the point though, how're things looking, academia or industry? Am I screwed. It probably doesn't help that my area of interest is how the climate crisis impacts epigenetics and phenotype in crop plants.

I'm in my little safe bubble right now with a community that supports me and I'm kinda scared to poke my head out of it. I want to advance my career and better understand the world and maybe even help people. But yeah.
