Shows recs for picky-ish person?

I need to find more shows to watch, preferably something bingeable. I don't know what the pattern is within the shows I do and don't like, so I am hoping for recommendations based on the following facts: my favorite show currently is Veep. I am not usually into comedy but for some reason Veep is so good despite it being a comedy. I also love teen shows like Pretty Little Liars, but ironically. SATC was also highly enjoyable for me and Desperate Housewives was fine. I thought Shameless was entertaining enough but I never felt compelled to finish it. I do enjoy dramas such as Queen's Gambit and The Dropout, but they're not my favorite to watch.

I really don't like a lot of shows that I expected to like. I can't get into Buffy because it is painfully obvious that it was made by a misogynist (love Buffy the character though). I could never get into HBO's Girls despite trying. I couldn't get into Skins or One Tree Hill, but maybe I just need to try harder on those.

I struggle to see a pattern, and thus can't find shows to watch. I don't think I like comedy (could never get into Modern Family), yet I absolutely love Veep. Maybe shows with strong women? But I don't like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Female friendships? Don't like Girls. Anyone with similar tastes have ideas or am I screwed?
