PC Reformat - Drivers?

Hi All,

I have a home built PC and installing the drivers was alot of work. I am going to do a reformat of my entire PC due to suspected virus. This means I will need to re-install drivers, correct?

What is the best way to backup my files? Ex. I use Thunderbird and have a ton of emails backed up to my computer. Don't want to lose them.
