Need someone to help me buy a laptop

I Recently passed +2with science (bio) . And i got interested in IT sector so i got admission for bachelors course related to IT. The hard part is I dont know anything about Computers . The last time i used a computer was in 6th grade. So i am seeking some help from any experienced person who is willing to tell me basics of buying a computer and clear some of my doubts
