Trusting agents and publications

Hi. This is my first ever post here . I'll be publishing my book soon but I am having a hard time understanding how do writers trust agents, editors, and publications that they won't steal their work.

Sorry if I sound skeptical and inexperienced (because I am both when it comes to book publications).
