recs? 🥺🙏🏻

hi all! i am going on a trip to grenada, west indies next month and i am looking for some recommendations. im a beginner diver, having got my open water cert this past june. i’ve only done the dives in my open water certification course, plus one fun dive. next month, i am heading back to do some fun diving, snorkeling, and possibly work on advanced cert as well. i’m looking for some recommendations to make my diving experience easier and fun this time around. my budget for each individual item is max $200, sadly.

  1. i have a -3.5 prescription and need special goggles. i have a pair from amazon, which are fine, but get really scratched up and i feel don’t suction great. i’d love to get a decent prescription scuba/snorkel mask. Edit: NOT open to contacts. I don’t do those lol.

  2. i desperately wanna get some footage this time around. i’m really into wildlife photography and would love to take my iphone 16 pro max (would have to be compatible with this) with me during a dive to take some pics and video. is there a good budget friendly underwater housing that works well? Edit: Looking to invest so I have something viable for the future. maybe i don’t bring it down on my dives this time around, but i can use it just for snorkeling and then dives down the line.

  3. is there a good snorkeling/diving app i can get on my phone and/or apple watch? i have a series 10 watch which can go down 20ft/6m so can be with me during a really shallow dive or a snorkel. is there a dive tracking app i could use on my phone in an underwater housing?

  4. anything else other people wish they had when they first started diving that’s budget friendly? i’m (hopefully) getting a dive slate for christmas this year so that’s one other fun item off the list. (can’t wait to record all the species i see!)
