Let’s be honest with ourselves, this England team is a very average one.

Genge is all fart and no sh*t. George requires the power to surround him in order to bring his strengths at the set piece to the fore. Stuart is plugging a hole until Fasogbon arrives. Martin has been found wanting defensively on numerous occasions in the last two tests. Maro doesn’t have the carry height to influence the gain line at test level. CCS is Englands talisman but the errors in the carry late in game under fatigue persist. Did Earl play today? How is a player of his quality largely absent? Spencer reminds us all how much we miss Mitchell. Smith has moments of brilliance but a key responsibility in his role is for the attack to flourish in its entirety - that we can’t ignore. Lawrence & Slade are underperforming in the England midfield and Lawrence is certainly not transferring his impressive club form. Slade defending like Exeter’s parting Red Sea. Did Furbank play today? How is a player of his quality largely absent?

Cole, Dombrandt and Iziekwe off the bench? At test level? Come on now.

Englands defence has taken far, far too long to improve. They persistently concede tries that are entirely unnecessary to do so.

Englands attack is muddled. They are looking to rely on carry power up front without the players to do so.

Englands set piece is without authority.
