1st time buyer story time.
Walk into local AD to inquire about the process yada-yada, eventually register my interest in a piece. I’m told rather rudely that there is no timeframe as to when one would be available to me and the wait may very well be indefinite. Par for the course I figure, I leave undeterred. Fast forward a few months I stop into the AD and the SA who helped me previously is no longer there, no biggie. I strike up a great convo with a much friendlier SA, my info is not in their system from any previous visit, go figure, but SA takes my info and gives me a number to stay in contact.
Got a call from SA today some pieces came in, but they were not there, encouraged me to stop by and inquire with other SA’s but to be sure and mention absent SA had been helping me. Ok, this sounds promising I think. I go in, ask for absent SA am told he was out but am asked if I could be helped, I say yes, explain that X SA had been helping me, encouraged me to stop by regularly, I was in the area and I’m looking for x model; I am very promptly told there was nothing available.
What do you all make of this? A test, BS, other SA not wanting to work for a sale that may go to another SA? I’m very confused. Why call at all if there was nothing available.
