liberal panic and doomerism are making it impossible to know what's going on

Look at immigration enforcement, for instance. Holy shit, ICE is going to be allowed in schools per EO - it's already happening in Chicago! Wait, no, those were Secret Service members investigating a threat. Native Americans are being targeted by ICE? Well, the Navajo tribal president has "only received a few unconfirmed reports," so it's hard to say if it's anything or if a couple people just got stop-and-frisked (which definitely isn't good, but isn't the same as being targeted for deportation!). Every local subreddit, mine included, is calling every worrying police interaction a possible ICE encounter. So what the hell is happening? Hard to say, other than a lot of panic and uncertainty, which is what this executive order avalanche was probably meant to cause. Nicely done staying calm and ascertaining the truth, everyone.

I feel bad for the kids of immigrants staying home from school and the Native Americans afraid of being targeted based on unconfirmed, confusing, or false news. I feel bad for the gay people getting hastily married (at least one friend of a friend has done this) because they think gay marriage will be revoked. I feel bad for my friends going into absolute panic attacks at every new Trump action and spiraling about what he'll do (killing federal grants, illegalizing adult gender transition, defunding education, et cetera) that might affect them personally. We don't know what's happening, but I think alarmism, rumors, and oh-god-what-ifs will only ruin our days and make figuring shit out even harder since social media and news alike are being gunked up by it.

We are in the fog of war and I do not like it. I probably need to log off and mute the homies' group chat for like a week.
