Can being blissfully oblivious to what’s going on in pop culture be the new punk?

Maybe I’m trying to justify my own dysfunction here heh. I was at work and people (close to my age) were talking about Logan Paul and I had to admit I only knew the guys name and wasn’t even sure what he did and they were shocked and proceeded to quiz me on other trending pop culture stuff and 80% I had no clue about, they thought I was from mars. I actually don’t aspire to be an elitist or social recluse and want to connect with salt of the earth coworkers and such, I just unconsciously block out these things. A lot of the time, I don’t even know what you people here are talking about because I just artpost mostly.

Like my utopia would be just people going off the entertainment/media grid and just setting up a Plex server or whatever and self-curating since everything is so monopolized and franchised anyway. At least that feels spiritually right for me 🤷🏻‍♀️
