AMD Driver Timeout
Hello guys,
I have an issue with AMD Driver Timeout. This started happening early September, and I have been using this PC for almost a year and had zero issues. I didn't change anything to cause this issue to happen. The only thing I was doing is updating AMD drivers through the Adrenaline software and Windows updates.
I usually play Dota 2, and this is happening more or less regularly. I have tried other games for a while (30 mins max), but this wasn't occurring.
I have tried everything software-wise, meaning updating BIOS, fresh installing Windows 11, updating drivers, reverting to old drivers, disabling MPO, enabling fast performance, and many more, basically everything that I have come across on the web as I see I'm not the only one with the issue.
What's more, it also caused really slow boot, OS bugs, inability to use my PC altogether.
The only thing I haven't tried is changing something hardware-wise.
This is my build:
- GPU- AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT
- Power supply - CoolerMaster MWE 850 GOLD V2 (MPE-8501-ACAAG-EU)
- Motherboard - ROG CROSSHAIR X670E HERO (Serial No N6MCKC0045045B3
- Processor - AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor, 4701 Mhz, 12 Core(s)
With all being said, it's really frustrating as I don't know what to do and how to resolve it.
So, my question is:
- Is it bad drivers causing the issue?
- Is it faulty hardware?
- Is it a third-party software that I install on my PC?
Whatever the answer is, how do I detect the issue?
Thanks in advance!
P.S. I also noticed in-game FPS dropping from like 200-300 to 100-150 when the crash happens.
