People who've lived at Extended Stay hotels for months at a time: How do you extend the stay after the first month?

Currently living at an extended stay hotel with a roommate due to "real" apartments not accepting us due to bad credit. I only booked the room for one month; That month will be up soon; What should I say/do to ensure we can keep living here?

EDIT: Went ahead and extended my stay this morning; It was way easier than I expected! Thank you all for reassuring me.
