Help! I accidentally factory reset my ps5 while trying to transfer game data to a USB
I’ve messed up and I’m panicking.
I recently finished my second play though of Elden Ring because of the DLC, with my first being the PS4 version which I played last year. Because I only needed to get all endings for the game to earn the platinum, I decided to save scum by downloading the save data to a USB because I don’t have ps+ and I don’t want to replay the game two more time just for some trophies. I had done the same thing last year on my PS4 and it worked flawlessly.
Instead of saving my data and then restoring it, I instead got a factory reset console with my account still registered but logged out. Once I logged my account back in, all of the games I had on my desktop were gone except for Astro’s Playroom, and when I when to my trophies, the videos that show the moments before earning the trophy were all gone.
If anyone who understands what I can do to try and fix this can help, it would be much appreciated. I’ve already gone to PlayStation support, YouTube and the safe mode setting on the console but nothing has been helpful
If you do know how to fix my issue, please list step by step instructions for me. I don’t know what else I could do and I don’t want to restart everything from scratch.
(If you also have information about how to copy save data so I can continue with what I originally set out to do without Ps+ would also be appreciated.)
