“An Update on Our Family” documentary - Myka Stauffer

We just finished the documentary on the Stauffer family who were family vloggers They internationally adopted a little boy and gave him up. Im sure many of you know this story very well!

The documentary really highlighted the dark side of family vlogging.. and the profits parents are making exploiting their children on the internet. And how much money she made off her pregnancy announcement videos which led to the profits she’d make off of detailing the entire adoption process!

There are also glaring similarities to Adelaide White too..

It just made me sad and want to unfollow all these pee stick gals. But I know, too, that we can’t demonize all of them. It seems there’s just an overwhelming need for some ethics and boundaries around it though, if not taken as far as legislation to protect these kids.

Anyway. We watched it on HBO if you’re interested. It leaves me wanting to take action, but I’m not sure how just yet.
