Bedrooms facing the avenues — how do you deal with the noise?
I have been in Park Slope for a couple of months now. My bedroom faces 7th Avenue. I am aware this isn’t a loud avenue by any means, but traffic noise has been increasingly bothering me.
Particularly buses, which are quite loud. In fact, I can feel their vibration in my bed when lying down. I already wear ear plugs when I sleep, and use a white noise machine. But the vibration goes straight through it. I feel like it is slowly but surely eating away at my quality of sleep.
How do others deal with this? Any tips to sound proof my apartment? Or is this just a reality one has to accept?
