Overseas Pakistani marrying from Pakistan

I'm a British Pakistani and when using the muzz app I notice I get lots of likes from guys in Pakistan. Some seem decent and sweet from their bios.

However, my parents aren't keen on the idea as we don't have much family in Pakistan and my family hasn't visited in 10 + years. I've only been as a kid. Therefore, my parents feel it would be hard to vet a person.

Are my family being overly cautious or are they right? Has anyone got a success story from meeting online?

Edit: Thank you everyone for your responses. I really was being naive and realise it is a risk especially as a girl I'd have to go to Pakistan to meet the guy then again to marry him but I think meeting once or twice isn't enough especially if you've met online and don't know the other person or their family. The point about not disclosing citizenship is something I should do. I stupidly gave details of my job as I feel I should be genuine and don't have anything to hide. ALhamdulilah I have a good career and worked hard for it. I spoke to a few healthcare professionals who I felt would be less risky as they can come here through a work visa though it takes a long time. However, the ones I spoke to insisted on knowing my salary and asked straight up which guys in the UK wouldn't do. So I think I should definitely be cautious like others have said.
