Was the first route you played your favourite character?

I was just thinking about my fav characters from all the otome games I've played and realised that my fav character was always the route I played first. Collar x Malice played Sasazuka first and was my fav, Cupid Parasite played Ryuki first and was my favourite, Variable Barricade played Taiga first and was my fav, the list goes on.

Not sure if this was a coincedence or if its a common thing that you end up seeing the story through the eyes of the first route you played? Would love to hear others experiences? Pretty new to otome games and the community in general so not sure if this was a common thing :)
