Could I'm Still Here upsets in Best International Film Feature and wins over Emilia Pérez?
Honestly, I'm kinda shocked that I'm Still Here got that BP nomination, especially because it only got Actress and International Film. I wonder if this could be a sign the film has a lot of passion and could even grow next weeks. Although, Emilia Pérez is strong and it was the most nominated film of this year, even breaking record for non-english film with most nominations in Oscars history, and it's a top 5 in Best Picture, so EP is clearly the frontrunner to win IFF.
I know Emilia Pérez hate is only online but I wonder if could harm for getting some wins. I don't think it's a great comparasion but reminds how The Power of the Dog was the favorite to win BP, got 12 nominations at the Oscars and had Netflix behind but kinda failed to win because it was divisive for audience and lacked passion, with only win being for Campion that swept that season. Any opinions?
