Bad Experience at Hogan & Sons Fairfax
Wanted to share my experience as a warning in case anyone was considering going to this location for car work.
I talked to the guy on the phone the other day about getting new tires for my Jeep. He told me about a promo on a set of tires (buy 3 get 1) and told me the price out-of-the-door would be $650. Great price for a decent set of tires, seemed too good to be true so I scheduled my appointment (narrator: it was too good to be true).
Went to drop off today and it was the same guy I talked to. He tells me the price is now $850 because I have to buy road hazard coverage for each tire to get the discount, which is something he conveniently left out on our phone call. Without the coverage and the discount the normal price was about a $10 difference. I said "thanks but no thanks" and walked out the door.
Now I know that $850 is not a bad price for new tires and installation, but for me it's the principle of the matter. The dude straight up lied to me and just thought I was going to be too inconvenienced to argue with him and accept it. F*CK THAT! Tell me the right price from the beginning and don't try to trick me. I took my car to Wiygul instead and ended up paying more, but that's ok because they've always been honest with me.
Hogan & Sons is a couple blocks from my new house and I would have gladly made them my go-to, but I will NEVER give them an ounce of my business because they can't be trusted. Just wanted to spread the word so someone else hopefully avoids getting duped as well.
