Sv 4x4 vs Pro 4x

I'm thinking of getting a pro 4x mainly for its off-road capability. But ultimately it will end up being modified. My question is does it make sense to get the pro 4x just to modify it and build off an already decent base for off-roading, or would it be a wiser and cheaper option to get the sv 4x4 instead?
