Valentine's Day

My husband is an avid collector of MTG cards. I play but I don't really keep up with the latest releases and stuff. I always try to get him a few packs of cards around the holidays, but it seems that I don't get the right packs. By that I mean he's disappointed LOL. He doesn't complain, of course, but I can tell that I didn't get what he was looking for.

Any recommendations? Do you think he'd rather have a new pack or a more expensive collector type card? I don't want to spend a ton, though.
