Ridiculous experience at Moe’s tonight

I can’t believe I already wrote a negative review and now I am here to rant some more. I’m just stunned at how horrible of an experience I just had at the Moes in Cortland NY.

My husband and I went in for dinner tonight and ordered 2 home wreckers and a quesadilla. Everything was fine until we sat down to eat and I realized they gave us one wrong burrito. I went to the cashier and told her and she said “just get back in line and they’ll make you a new one”. It was dinner rush so there were already like 3-4 people ordering, plus another few waiting AND another group walking in. So I decided to wait and eat my quesadilla until the line wasn’t so busy. More people kept walking in so I decided to just ask for a refund instead.

The cashier said okay but “can’t take back the burrito since it’s been unwrapped and to just TOSS IT” so we did.

Then she can’t pull up our order anymore so she can’t do the refund and went to talk to the manager, who told her to offer us MoeBucks instead. No problem.. we said yes.

She goes to get the MoeBucks and comes back and says “where is the burrito?”…

I tell her it’s in the trash because that’s what she told us to do.

The manager comes over and says they cannot give us the MoeBucks without the burrito so I even offered to go get it out of the trash. He then says “per policy we can’t have you go digging in the trash.” And he walks away like he’s done talking and shrugs his hands up like idk-what-to-tell-you so I ask him who else I can speak to to resolve this and if there’s a number to call.

He literally smiles and says “1-800-Corporate” in front of everyone like it’s some witty punchline and walks away again.

At that point my husband and I just walked out.

I hate making a scene and don’t like confrontation but that was the most ridiculous and embarrassing thing I’ve ever seen.

Is it even worth it to contact corporate and file a complaint or even get my money back somehow?
