Thoughts on Zaeed?

I’ve probably never willingly played even one mission with him on my squad outside of the loyalty mission.

To me he seemed very tacked on, with little weight on the overall narrative. A typical merc with a need for revenge. In a world with fairly cliche yet lovable characters, Zaeed always seemed cliche and fairly dull.
