Should I get a salvage/rebuilt title if MVA says my car has a clean title after insurance deemed it a total loss?
Hi,
So back in July, my vehicle was deemed a total loss after an ambulance backed into me. I went through the county's insurance, and they paid me out, and I kept the vehicle. I know when a car is totaled that it will have a salvage title, and I have already replaced/rebuilt the car based on what the insurance said needed to be fixed (the damage to the vehicle less than 75% of the fair market value as it was only cosmetic damage). I called MVA, and they have no record of the car being deemed as totaled/salvaged, and that my car still has a clear title.
I was wondering if I should submit the paperwork to report it as salvaged and then get it inspected to have a rebuilt title? I am trying to sell the car to an out of state private party.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
