Wobbly Maine Coon. He has already been to urgent care and we’re continuing to monitor.
Before I begin, my boy Leo has already been to urgent care, and I am following the advice of the vet. I’m looking to see if anyone else has had a similar experience as he’s my first Maine Coon.
This morning, he was fine (eating, active, and playful) and took a little nap. When he woke up, however, I could immediately tell something was wrong. His walk was unsteady, his inner eyelids weren’t retracting, and when he would sit still, he would wobble back-and-forth, like a cobra in a basket.
I immediately took him to urgent care, where they did x-rays and bloodwork. It showed he has a slightly enlarged heart, slightly large spleen, some slight arthritis, and a little bit of asthma. The bloodwork was excellent, with slightly elevated sodium levels. However, this doesn’t explain any of his symptoms. He was cleared of a stroke, an ear infection, and was not constipated. He has had a mast tumor removed from his back last year, but further x-rays and bloodwork showed he was clear.
I’m really looking to see if anyone has had a similar experience to what we’re going through. The urgent care vet couldn’t quite diagnose anything. I plan on following up with my regular vet, so I’m not looking for any medical advice, just similar experiences
