Cancelling PC Card: Be Aware of Incomplete Closures

Hi all,

It’s me, the person who keeps talking about cancelling their PC Card. So a few weeks (maybe even a month?) ago, I got a new credit card and called and cancelled my PC Financial Mastercard. They told me it was cancelled and I could go ahead and cut up my card, which I did along with a replacement card for when my card expired.

The past week, I had a couple weird charges come through on the account which I was checking to make sure I was all good and at zero. One site hadn’t been updated and still had the charge go through instead of bouncing back. I paid the amount off again to have a zero balance, but then I was like why the f are charges still going through? I called and apparently the closure was “unsuccessful”. I had to put through the request again and it had an error again, but I’ve been assured it will go through tomorrow. I’ve asked them to email me a confirmation but I had to go through a process and initiate that.

Just an FYI if you are closing your account to check to see if it’s actually closed. So frustrated. Just let me be free of you, PC!
