Adaptive Sync/Freesync on X11?

I'm using Ubuntu Studio 24.04 which by default uses X11, but it's also possible to switch to Wayland.

I use X11 because I've noticed that somehow audio is notciably less stable on Wayland (probably something about multiple applications interacting, giving me more Xruns).

However, I also do some gaming and on X11 the gameplay seems a lot less smooth. I assume it's because of the lack of adaptive sync/freesync option in the display settings? On Wayland I can see that option in display settings, and it makes gameplay a lot smoother.

This is not a big issue, I don't mind switching back and forth, especially because it's quick and easy, but I wonder if I can still use adaptive sync on X11? Because that would make it, so I didn't have to switch every time I want to play some games.
