The metro woman, the Bardhaman Yadav, the Durgapur goon, what is the endgame for the racist/"Bangladeshi" attacks on Bengalis?

Since racist attacks and "Bangladeshi" slurs are on the rise, with two viral incidents in the same week (and probably hundreds of undocumented ones), I was wondering what the final consequence for the offenders is going to be.

• Apparently metro GPF did not accept a written complaint and held the Bengali woman for 5 hours instead. I do not know about legal steps taken/not taken for the other two cases.

• The TMC government is obviously not going to prosecute their votebank.

• Organisations like Bangla Pokkho can only stage protests and not do anything concrete to the offenders.

So what is the solution? Do we need new laws? Can we do something with existing laws?
