Help selecting whole home humidifier

Hi All,

I've finally reached my wits end with humidification and I want to go with a whole home humidifier. I'm tired of dry mouth and bloody noses over night.

My home is a two story home, 2,970 square feet in Illinois. I probably need windows, but those are a couple of years down the road. Last year, I replaced my furnace with a new 92% efficient condensing unit from Carrier.

I will consider my house of "average" tightness. I see ratings on line saying I need 17, 20, or to double that number if using with a furnace. I think 17-20 would be fine - but let me know if I'm off base.

I'm looking at one of the Aprilaire units and I'm going to DIY. I'm comfortable with most aspects of this project.

I'm looking at the 700 because of the included fan, which means less cutting into ductwork, and it gets high reviews. I'd also consider one of the 400,500,600 models, but it seems GPD goes up as the price goes down.

This is the unit that is the top contender at the moment: https://www.amazon.com/AprilAire-Whole-House-Humidifier-Automatic-Capacity/dp/B0DCD95GVR/ref=sr_1_6?crid=1W470HF5C94XU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.buWq7RORXKNQ_7AdTlk34hT4XUGW_QCHrVV214oGTYMnc2o_7GFNONcBh_1TUppssP_z4PbgX_LuzK7W7lPZ2NKyKV7kG4XA62KwERmD6we3ZD_Jk_6Fd1vW1zcBBuT4EYjFeUb94Al9JcQlM7W4_FGfAMtD3c10nGWAtorJg2-WvnWW-IaJ096o70gwRcPuquiI4oCxgTpGDra1U5u01NdHmmwiOWN6DnfPgMCCn9SbbWlQ-QPhJjoXhHkb2PRNTLzjN2ksZd2IJpA-wFwPvy02OzUkzppCimfOw1zMlxXI3kQJ3NXOiLl11S5hQ29vTcbcDaCjwAI0ifwaCUzhBaiyIchjWS5YjSUIqNis7_JbgoUqCUBsqET0I8kh10TFxZ95klrNzliLRPB3bIE_CDqzpdxhR6pX-ipFCcTzSn822VfJdVZmddDvt-cqnW0U.TlhRuOOSfpSjCKDEMdFFJFYph9-Of8Z5nriDeNH59Uk&dib_tag=se&keywords=aprilaire%2B700%2Bhumidifier&qid=1737488162&sprefix=aprileair%2B700%2Bhumidifie%2Caps%2C102&sr=8-6&th=1

Would you think this is a good model to go with or should I get something else, or are there other inputs I need to consider. Also - as far as I can tell, the "M" models have the manual control vs. a digital controller. I also have a nest thermostat that seems it can control the humidifier - but I've read mixed reviews on that.
