Door sensor that detects partially closed door
So, I have a bit of a weird use case for a SONOFF door sensor I set up a while ago:

I have it on the door to my 3yo daughter's room so I can get an alert on my phone via HA if she wakes up and leaves the room at night. But, she recently started asking us to leave the door slightly ajar at night. So now the sensor won't work.
What's the best way to make it have a little more leeway in what it considers "closed"?
My ideas so far: - reattach the part on the doorframe so it's on top of a pad that offsets it slightly. I don't really want to do this if it'll mess up the "fully closed" detection though, and it'll probably mangle the adhesive strip - Add a magnetic strip on the door somehow that triggers the sensor further out? I thought these were magnetic switches, but when I tried holding up a fridge magnet, it didn't seem to trigger...
Has anyone done this?
