When do you think Ron and Hermione's relationship actually start?

We assume their first kiss was in front Harry in the Battle of Hogwarts but what if it wasn't?

This is obviously complete speculation, but I'd like to think they had little moments stolen with each other throughout the last book where they profess their feelings towards each other. And Harry was just too preoccupied to notice.
