Staring a Collection

I already have some handbags (about 7 or so). But I’ve recently decided to start collecting seriously.

My question to any long term collectors, do you collect any bags you like, regardless of the brand? Or, do you only stick to collecting brands that you feel are worth more?

I’ve noticed people keep speaking negatively of Coach as if they have no value or worth now. I personally love Coach and Dooney and Burke, along with other higher end brands as well. So I’m trying to figure out if I should just collect whatever I like or stick to bags that will hold their value over time.

I’ll still buy what I like whenever I get a chance. I’m just trying to figure out where to put more of my focus when collecting.
