Help choosing grinder [$800]
Hey everyone,
I’m in the market for a new grinder and could really use some advice. My budget is around $600–$900, and I’m looking for something that can handle espresso and possibly some pour-over. Here are the grinders I’m considering:
Gevi Grindmaster ($650) – 64mm flat burrs, adjustable RPM, single dosing, and SSP burr compatibility. Some concerns about build quality and brand reputation.
Timemore 064S ($500) / 078S ($800) – Solid build, good stock burrs, single dosing-friendly, but fixed RPM and limited user feedback.
Eureka Mignon Specialita ($700+) – Proven reliability, quiet operation, good espresso performance, but smaller 55mm burrs and not great for single dosing.
Turin DF83V (~$900) – 83mm burrs, variable RPM, single dosing, but it’s big and more expensive. My main priorities: ✅ Espresso-focused, but flexibility for pour-over is a plus ✅ Good grind consistency and clarity ✅ Durability and long-term reliability ✅ Low retention for single dosing (preferred but not a deal-breaker)
For context, I mostly drink dark/medium and occasionally light roast espresso, but I’d like something that can handle different profiles well.
Which of these would you recommend based on build quality, workflow, and overall value? Are there other grinders in this price range I should consider?
Would love to hear from anyone who owns these grinders! Thanks in advance.
