How to stop my puppy from eating my cat’s food?

I have a cat who likes to eat slowly. When it is time to eat, she will eat a little then relax then come back again to eat. She does this over and over so her process for eating is really slow. I now have a 3 month old puppy that basically eats everything she comes across. So she will try to eat the cat food as soon as she sees it. Normally it would be ok to keep the puppy in her crate for feeding time for the cat but because of her slow nature in eating, it is rather unfair to keep the dog in her crate the whole time. Is there any other ways from keeping the puppy from eating the cat food?
