NCMC card or Metro card?

I use metro card from more than a year for college travels. Recently I saw my friend's airtel NCMC card and NGL it looks cool. I just want to know is it a better option to switch to NCMC cards for just better looks? Or should I stick to my normal metro card. Also, is there any service charges on NCMC cards?
