best alternative to roller skates/how to fake them well?

planning to cosplay a character (sundry sidney from a starstruck odyssey) who is constantly wearing rollerskates. ideally i would learn how to skate and just wear actual skates for her, but since that is largely not probable for me, i'm not sure what the next best option is.

should i try to make a pair of normal shoes appear as if they're skates? if so, i'm not sure how to do that and make it look anywhere near convincing.

or, would it just be easier to try and find a similar-looking pair of shoes and just ignore the skates altogether?
