BC travel tips in late January
Hi folks,
Need some help figuring out what I can do travel wise. I'm visiting British Columbia region for about 10-12 days in the last 2 weeks of January.
I've got 3-4 days in Vancouver currently. After that about 3-4 days in Whistler for skiing (first time ever but at least I'm taking lessons XD). Maybe some extra snow activities like dog sledding etc.
Then I have 4-6 days which I don't know what to do with (after which I'm off to New York for a few weeks). I've never driven in snow so it seems like a bad idea to drive myself - so I guess I'm restricted to using public transportation/uber/shuttles etc. Can also fly elsewhere. Money less of an issue since I haven't travelled forever.
I like both indoors and outdoors stuff - but also trying to be mindful that peak winter changes what can be done outdoors. 35 yo M who's relatively active if it helps. Just trying to see and do as many different things as possible.
So any recommendations on what I could do?
I like the idea of sticking around British Columbia to feel like I explored a decent amount of the region.
If I stick around British Columbia, what is worth visiting and accessible without driving myself? I would need to end somewhere where I can fly out to New York.
Conversely, should I fly over to Montreal and check it out and Quebec City at the same time?
Any other suggestions? I'm leaving going way up north like Whitehorse or Yellowknife for another trip so those are out. I realise the above options sound all over the place, but again, open to any recommendations.
Thanks for your help in advance!
EDIT: I'm also not opposed to driving if people think of routes that would be considered safe and would increased possible destinations etc.
