Those that had both foot done, does one foot look aesthetically more pleasing than the other? What are the reasons for this?

I got a chevron on both feet. The right one was done first because it was the worser bunion, noticeably bigger than the left even though both were diagnosed at medium severity. I’m 8 months out now, pain free and almost at the stage of not noticing my foot anymore. It is a huge improvement but I still have a slight bump and the forefoot is still wide (I do have wide feet). I know reading posts on here, many have said it’s a 60% reduction of the bump and it could be your natural foot shape where you have a slight bump.

I got my left one done two weeks ago and I can already tell the bump I’ll end up with, once all the swelling comes down and soft tissue sets in, will be smaller.

When I asked the surgeon about my right foot and if it could’ve been pushed in more he said no because it would be too close to the second toe. But wouldn’t that be the same case for the left foot too?

What determines how much the bunion joint can be shifted in?

I wonder if it has to do with the stability of the foot. He mentioned he adjusts the toe during surgery and it has to be in a stable position. I was not sure what he meant by that, if it had to do with the stretched ligaments and tendons in the foot, because of the bunion? And the tight adductor muscle and loose abductor muscle?

Only the surgeon would know what is considered the stable position and I wish I could understand this process!

For the left one he told me it’ll be the same shape OR BETTER than the right one.
