New 1440p Build Overkill?

I currently have an R9 5900X and a 3080, and I’m considering upgrading to a 9800X3D paired with a Radeon 7900XTX. I’m leaning towards a Radeon card to avoid concerns about Nvidia’s stock availability. Does this sound like a good combination?
