Is RTX 4070 worth it?( GPU Upgrade)

Hello all.
I've been planning to do an upgrade to my gpu for a while now.
Is RTX 4070 worth it for 624 euros?
Team red's equivalent RX 6800 XT is at 750 euros here.
Also will it be sufficient for 1440p gaming?( 60+ stable fps)

my specs are:
CPU : Ryzen 5 5600X
PSU: Corsair RM650X Plus Gold
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB DDR4
MOBO: Asus TUF B550 gaming plus
I will be upgrading from an RX 580 8GB.
