Does anyone else dislike Xander?

I am in the middle of season 3 and I can't stand Xander. He has a right to hate Angel but it seems like he only dislikes him because Buffy loves him. Also, he's kind of a womanizer. I've heard that he's a Joss Whedon self intert and that adds up. I am sure he is by no means the worst character, but I just can't stand him. Honestly I think he's a really bad friend, cheating on Cordelia, pining after Buffy (and trying to come onto her as a hyena, sure he was possessed but he still had his soul and whatnot), and he seemed to be playing with Willow's feelings (sure maybe he wasn't aware she liked him but it seemed to me he was, at least sometimes). Idk is this just me? I'm new to the Buffy community, but my mom watched it as it was airing and didn't notice this.
