this guy is so hard to read😭

i’ve been kinda smitten with this coworker of mine for a couple months. he’s a very shy guy and didn’t talk to anyone until i started yapping at him.

he is charming though not like an weirdo type of shy, just doesn’t enjoy talking. he’s told me he could stay home for a whole month and it wouldn’t bother him in response to me losing my mind in quarantine for 5 days lol.

then they moved our desks right next to each other so i see him almost all the time. i talk to anyone who basically has ears, and he’s told me he’s just not really a talker (which i can tell). However, i find him talking to me and making lots of eye contact. i also notice him laughing to himself when i say smg funny like all day. it’s soooo cute LOL

i never caught him checking me out before, but we definitely have a flirty banter which is fun and other people have noticed. on the same token, i feel like some days he withdraws because he doesn’t like to talk in general. i followed him on insta and he followed me back but he never interacts. what do u guys think?? is he interested??

btw just to add on so u guys know the vibes: the other day it was my birthday and he literally watched my friends decorate my desk and wish me happy birthday allllll day. he didn’t say anything to me until 4pm where he goes “hey how was ur bday? happy birthday btw” like it was such an overthinking vibe for what😭😭

FINAL THOUGHTS: i sooooo appreciate all of your support. we do have an office christmas party coming up soon so i am going to see the vibes (if he hangs with me, has a drink w me etc) and decide if i should ask him out from there. there’s many other couples at my office it’s kinda a lax environment.

for all the comments saying to leave him alone, i totally understand. It’s just hard to believe it because i really do feel the chemistry between us. i don’t think it’s one sided, but he’s unlike any guy i’ve ever gotten to know. i never claimed to not be obsessed with him, im 21F just a girl u know. he’s made comments about never having a girlfriend and needing someone who talks a lot for his “listener personality”. i can just tell he’s very cautious and over thinks. i will keep u all updated and i’ve loved reading ur responses!!!

UPDATE: So we have had a lot more interaction since I made this post. We had my company birthday lunch in which he hung out with me and my two girlfriends, and we all had a really good time. Thought he doesn’t talk much in the office, when we are all together (or me and him 1-1) he might be just as social and fun as I am. Since then, he had been really sweet to me at the office and even did something really cute for me. I found out that people in the office had been drinking out of my mug and was complaining to him about it, and the next day I couldn’t find my mug and saw i didn’t have coffee. I told him how I couldn’t find it and he let me know that he hid it for me when he saw it in the cupboard so no one would take it. it was really sweet. I couldn’t tell if maybe we were just giving a friendly vibe tho because we were in a group so I waited for the christmas party which was today.

The christmas party was an absolute blast. We hung out together the entire time and had a couple drinks, my cheeks literally hurt from laughing and smiling. He was being literally hilarious and we were joking and taking pics together. We have a group chat with my girlfriends and him and I, and he was saying that he had a great time and even told me so at the end. I think he likes my company A LOT as a coworker and friend but maybe not more than that. We have a cute banter but I wasn’t sure if i felt more from him. I decided i won’t be asking him out but i enjoy his friendship so i’ll leave it at that. it’s fine LOL
