Joel Anderson is the best of The Ringer's new hires

Joel is everything the protoypical Ringer personality isn't:

• A journalist who does actual reporting and writing along with podcasting.

• Played D1 football (TCU, backed up LT for a year) and was the world's fastest 10 year old in 1988.

• Not a coastal DINK.

• A regular on Bomani's show. He also co-hosted Slate's sports podcast (Hand Up and Listen), and his co-hosts held him in such high esteem that they basically quit the show after 15 years when he was inexplicably laid off. Biggest hurdle will be Bill not knowing he exists (the Ben Lindbergh piece) or being weird with anyone with anyone that doesn't have his exact sensibilities (the 'so, did you fuck with Migos?' piece)
