Partner Wedding

One of the partners I work for heavily is getting married. I think this is his 3rd wife. Anyways, his wife (smoking hot) is the same age as me. Actually she might be younger.. maybe 25. Irrelevant info but just wanted to lay out the context.

The partner in question invited me to his wedding. The wedding is in Brazil. I don’t have a passport, so I cannot attend. Need some advice on how to tell the partner I can’t come. I don’t want to tell the partner “I don’t have a passport. Can’t come”. He’s gonna roast me for not having a passport. What excuse can I give? This partner means a lot to me (not romantically…we’re both dudes.. not that there anything wrong w that) and I would love to attend his wedding. I just can’t leave the USA 😅
