The Neurotypical Gagging Order

So, as we all know autism is a spectrum. There are autistic people like my dad who simply have no idea they're autistic and different to others. Is anyone else hyperaware that they're autistic/Asperger's and ruminate on their every interaction with others? That's me. We're the ones who get told we "don't seem autistic" until we're burnt out or have to do a presentation.

Anyway, I wish neurotypical knew that a lot of autistic people are aware - in fact, hyperaware - of their illogical rules. Autistic people are incredibly headstrong with a strong distaste for injustice & bullsh*t. A lot of us actively choose to ignore their nonsense. We're well aware of social consequences for it.

I call it the 'Neurotypical Gagging Order'. So, it'll be something like you chat too casually in an office environment, even though they'd hate you equally if you were stiff and professional.

What I'm getting at is I hate that they presume disability when we defy them. It's like being around a man who thinks he's right just because he's a man lol. No, I made an active choice to not care about your 'world', and I could predict how you'd react. Don't go presuming I'm stupid!
